Hoop Dreams is a great novel. It is a book not about flashy cars, lots of money, or shoe endorsements. It's about the journey two young men, living in the intercity of Chicago, who have a gift. Their gift is the ability to dominate the game of basketball. The two young men in the book are Arthur Agee and William Gates. Both of them live in the same neighborhood and experince the lifestyle of the intercity.

Both boys are recruited by a private catholic school when they become freshmen. The book is about their life throughout high school and big decisions they have to face for being in the spot light and for following their personal dreams. This a great book in my opinion and for anyone who has seen the documentary and would like to know more about the two boys life I would recommend it.
I give it FIVE Stars. *****
